1. Description of the Challenge
Every day, Vitens employees create Jira tickets to ask questions, request support, report issues, or suggest improvements. Together, these tickets form a valuable source of information about how the organization operates and where opportunities for improvement exist.
In this challenge, participants will analyze a dataset of Jira tickets and uncover patterns, trends, and recurring issues. The objective is to identify opportunities to improve employee experience, streamline internal processes, reduce unnecessary workload, and increase the efficiency of service delivery.
Teams are encouraged to use data analytics, AI, process thinking, and creativity to transform ticket data into actionable recommendations that help Vitens work smarter and better.
2. Expected Outcome
Teams should deliver a set of insights and recommendations that help Vitens improve its internal service processes.
The final outcome should include:
- Key findings from the ticket analysis
* Trends, patterns, bottlenecks, or recurring topics.
* Data-backed observations.
- Improvement opportunities
* Concrete recommendations to improve employee support and service delivery.
* Identification of quick wins and longer-term initiatives.
- An innovative solution or concept
* For example, process redesign, automation, AI support, self-service capabilities, or knowledge management improvements.
- A business case
* Expected benefits for employees and the organization.
* Impact on efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction, or workload reduction.
The winning solution will turn everyday employee requests into actionable insights that help Vitens work smarter, faster, and more effectively.
About Vitens
Drinking water. It seems so ordinary and self evident, but it is not.
Drinking water is coming under increasing pressure from all kinds of factors. Such as population growth, weather extremes as a result of climate change, but also the ever growing pollution that affects the quality of sources.
Reliable drinking water is a condition for our health and our wellbeing. If we want to safeguard drinking water for the future, then we need to change course. Our ambition is therefore as clear as the product we deliver: by 2030 we want every drop to be sustainable.
Vitens is the largest drinking water company in the Netherlands. We supply top quality drinking water to 5.6 million people and businesses in five provinces.
