The Nutreco Net Positive Challenge

Nutreco feeds the world through Skretting and Trouw Nutrition, working at the very start of the global food chain. Our purpose is Feeding the Future: helping the industry produce enough nutritious food for a growing population, sustainably.

We've set a bold ambition: net positive by 2045. Not net zero, not "doing less harm", but leaving the planet and its communities better than we found them. Restored ecosystems. Regenerative sourcing. Farming communities that thrive, not just survive.

Here's the honest part: getting there is a big challenge. Ninety percent of that journey depends on the wider ecosystem, on our suppliers, farmers, technology and partners we haven't met yet. That's where you come in.

We're inviting the Netherlands' top technical talent into our office for a day to help us answer the defining question of our industry: what does net positive actually look like, and how do we build it?

Design a concrete, technically grounded idea that moves Nutreco closer to net positive by 2045. Your idea should tackle one (or more) of these fronts:

• Regenerative sourcing: technology or systems that make regenerative agriculture measurable, scalable or more attractive to farmers

• Circular operations: closing resource loops in production, from energy to waste

• Climate-positive feed: formulations, data or digital tools that cut emissions across the value chain

• Thriving communities: technology that gives farmers better access to knowledge, markets or income

• Restored ecosystems: measurable ways to track and drive biodiversity recovery

We're not looking for polished business plans. We're looking for sharp thinking, technical creativity and ideas we haven't considered yet. So don't just pitch a solution, make the case for why it matters. What makes your idea different from what's already out there? Where does it challenge how we currently do things? And why should this be one of the critical pieces of our roadmap, not just a nice-to-have, but something our competitors haven't thought of yet.
